The Elyria City School District is partnering with local law enforcement agencies to inform students about the growing heroin epidemic in Northeast Ohio.

A video that the district's communications and marketing departments created, called "Heroin: Your First Time Could Be Your Last," will be shared with all students, grades 4th through 12th.

"This video is an essential awareness and educational resource for people of all ages," said Amy Higgins, Director of Communications and Marketing for the Elyria City School District, in a press release Friday. "As a public school district, student safety is our number-one priority and we believe it’s our duty to provide our students with the information and resources they need to make safe choices now and in the future."
