A man accused of striking and killing a 17-year-old pedestrian with his car and then leaving the scene was indicted Wednesday.
Damion L. Cheers, 25, of Lorain, is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
The crash happened at West 23rd Street and Kelly Place Oct. 19.
“The car just came out of nowhere and just hit him," said Amanda Bentley, whose boyfriend, Jayvian Johnson, is the victim. "And he like flew up then flew down.”
