NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio - John Vincenzo posted a picture of his 16-year-old son Nick's bruised and swollen face on Instagram to generate tips about the group that attacked his son Saturday Night.
His injuries included a shattered eye socket.
Nick, a 4.0 student and baseball pitcher at Elyria Catholic High School, was walking home from the North Ridgeville Corn Festival at around 11 p.m. Saturday.
He said three teens jumped him from behind near a car wash on Ridge Park Road and Center Ridge Road..
The three attackers punched and kicked Nick repeatedly in the face and head, They stole his cell phone, money and most of his clothes.
Nick had to run to a nearby gas station in his underwear for help, and called his dad, who called police.
North Ridgeville Police said the attack was a random robbery, and ask any witnesses to call them at (440) 327-2191. The attackers face felony chargers of robbery and assault when caught.
Nick's dad said his son's shoes were later found by a neighbor on Route 83. Nick is home recovering.
Lt. Greg Petek with the North Ridgeville Police Department said they have information and reason to believe the suspects are from Lorain.
Nick's main concern after the attack was his left arm—his pitching arm.
But his dad said his arm is okay.
