AMHERST, Ohio - A student at Amherst Junior High School has been suspended with a recommendation for expulsion after administrators said they found a hit list in his/her agenda book Monday afternoon.
Amherst police was contacted after the school's principal Ryan Coleman said he found the list that contained names of students and teachers. After investigating, police determined there was no reason to believe there was a serious threat.
Coleman said he first called parents of students who were on the list, then all students' parents to explain the situation.
"I believe that the student made a bad choice and that he/she thought it was a joke. However, there is no room for jokes like this at Amherst Junior High," Coleman said in a message to families on the school's website.
