WICKLIFFE, Ohio - A Lake County black bear spotting has now been caught on video.
An employee who wished to remain anonymous emailed NewsChannel5 the video of a black bear climbing a fence in Wickliffe.
It was captured on a surveillance camera at the Lubrizol Corporation on Sunday, June 2.
Bear sightings have been reported to police across Lake County in the past few days. Officers reported a black bear inside a Willoughby autobody shop Monday.
Police said the bear was also spotted near Kirkland High School, a BP gas station and along Ridge Road, as well as on Worden Road in Wickliffe.
Then on Tuesday, a bear was seen by a woman leaving her home in the area of Deepwood Boulevard and OH-84 in Mentor.
If you see the bear, authorities urge you to not approach it. The bears are generally fearful of people and will avoid contact.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife has been made aware of the sightings. Visit the ODNR's website for more information about black bears in the State of Ohio.
