EASTLAKE, Ohio - A suspect attempted to abduct a 12-year-old boy in the Eastlake Harbor Area Saturday, according to a police report.
Officers said the suspect drove up to the boy coming up Forest Drive and said he needed help finding his lost dog. When the boy said no, the man got out of his car and tried to grab him, the report said. The 12-year-old was able to get away on his bike.
The suspect is described as approximately 6 feet 3 inches to 6 feet 4 inches tall, with grey or blond hair, a beard and thin build. He was described as wearing jeans, a white tank top and flip flops, the left of which was torn, at the time of incident. Police also said he had tattoos going down both arms and fresh scratches down one side of his face.
His vehicle is described as a smaller, bright red Chevy pickup with a bright red cap and broken out driver's side headlight. The 12-year-old victim also said the truck was rusted, has dents to the body and did not have a front or back license plate.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and search for the suspect at this time.
