PERRY, Ohio - Police are investigating a number of threatening messages written in the girls' bathroom at Perry High School in Lake County this week.
The district's superintendent alerted parents of the situation in a message sent Friday.
A first message written lightly in pencil stating "Perry shooting will happen no one believes Help" was found by the school's custodial crew in the girls' restroom Tuesday afternoon.
Police were then called to investigate. On Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., police said a second faint message reading "A shooting is coming" was found in the same bathroom.
Thursday at 9 a.m. a third message stating "A shooting will happen Thurs/Friday," was found in the girls' restroom by a staff member.
Police said they are confident it is a hoax. The superintendent said increased police presence will be at the school Friday as a precaution.
Information of a wrong-doing can be reported anonymously to the SAFE SCHOOLS HELP HOTLINE at 1-800-418-6423 extension or by calling school district principals.
