WILLOUGHBY - The Chick-fil-A restaurant on Euclid Avenue in Willoughby will be collecting shoe boxes filled with gifts for Operation Christmas Child, which is an effort to send millions of gifts to needy children overseas.
On Nov. 12 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., the Chick-fil-A is giving away coupons for a free chicken sandwich for every gift-filled shoe box donation.
They are asking people to fill the boxes with small things like school supplies, toys and hygiene items.
This is the 20th anniversary of Operation Christmas Child. They've sent over 100 million shoebox gifts since 1993.
If you can't make it on the Nov. 12 shoe box gifts can also be dropped off between Nov. 18-25 at a drop-off center near you.
