Nationally known figure skaters, dancers coming to Mentor Civic Arena for Skate Dance Dream

MENTOR, Ohio - It's a dream for most young figure skaters and dancers to see their idols perform in person. On Saturday, a group of local skaters and dancers will actually have the chance to perform alongside them.

Show organizer and local figure skater/choreographer Parker Pennington developed the original concept of "Skate Dance Dream" in 2011– a figure skating and dance show that incorporates local talent with nationally recognized skating and dance stars.

Skate Dance Dream will feature figure skaters Ashley Cain and Emily Samuelson and professional dancers Tadd Gadduang and Alexis Juliano (finalists from "So You Think You Can Dance”).

Joining the stars will be more than 100 of the best local figure skating and dance
talent, including skaters from the Mentor Figure Skating Club’s national bronze medalist Synchronized Skating Team, the “Ice Diamonds.”

The show will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at the Mentor Civic Arena.

What sets Skate Dance Dream apart from other shows is the combination of figure skating and dance in one show. Participants will take part in rehearsals, seminars, workshops and meet and greets with the stars both Friday and Saturday.
