Man kicked out of bar hits sign in Walmart parking lot, Eastlake police say

EASTLAKE, Ohio - A 30-year-old man was kicked out of a bar, and then crashed his car into a pole in the Walmart parking lot, Eastlake police said.

The man was at the Captain's Club, where staff members made him leave for bringing his own alcohol and smoking in the women's restroom, Eastlake police said. The Eastlake man then broke out the bar manager's car window before fleeing to Walmart justbefore 2 a.m. Friday.

That's where he hit a handicap parking sign near the side of the building, according to police. Surveillance video shows the red car backing up off of the sign and driving out of view.

Officer's found him inside the men's restroom, where he was using bandages he bought in the store to treat his injuries.

The man was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and criminal damage. He was taken to the Eastlake Police Department and then released to a sober family member.
