Lake County Narcotics Agency arrests six in connection to heroin operation in Willoughby

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio - The Lake County Narcotics Agency arrested six people Wednesday in connection to a heroin trafficking in Willoughby.

The six were arrested after the agency conducted an undercover investigation.

The individuals were arrested on multiple charges ranging from trafficking in heroin and drug abuse to tampering with evidence and possession of criminal tools.

The following were arrested at the Motel 6 on Maplegrove Road in Willoughby: 

Rico D. Mauldin, 25, from Cleveland, Ohio
Taurian J. Thomas,25, from Cleveland Heights, Ohio
Genesis Z. Fair, 24, from Reminderville, Ohio
David L. Clark III, 24, from Reminderville, Ohio
Ronnell T. Smith, 20, from Cleveland, Ohio
Devante R. Smith, 20, Cleveland, Ohio

Officers seized abotu five grams of heroin, three vehicles, more than $900 in cash and drug paraphernalia. 

Five other individuals where also detained and questioned by police at the scene, however, they were later released pending further investigation into the matter. Authorities anticipate additional charges as a result of the evidence obtained during this investigation.
