A fastpitch hitting instructor stole thousands of dollars worth of bats, gloves and other apparel while he was working at a Mentor sports complex, police said.
Shawn K. Reis of North Olmsted has been charged with felony theft. Police said he stole the items while he was giving lessons at SPC Sports in Mentor.
He appeared in court Monday.
