Eastlake homicide suspect turns self in Monday after killing 54-year-old man

EASTLAKE, Ohio - An Eastlake man turned himself in Monday evening after he and a 54-year-old Willowick man were involved in an altercation, leaving the Willowick resident dead.

Police responded to 1323 E. 354th Street around 4 p.m. to find Timothy Martz dead in his home.

Eastlake police say Martz and 43-year-old Gary Massey became involved in a physical altercation when Martz was mortally wounded.

The cause of Martz's death is unknown at this time. The Lake County Corners office will be conducting an autopsy.

Massey contacted family members after the altercation and they were able to convince him to turn himself into police.
