Disagreements with Eastlake Mayor Ted Andrzejewski forces city official to abruptly resign

EASTLAKE, Ohio - Disagreements with Eastlake Mayor Ted Andrzejewski forced a city official to abruptly resign.

Eastlake City Council President Dennis Morley said chief building official John Stigalt resigned Tuesday immediately after submitting a resignation letter citing disagreements as a reason.

"He submitted his notice and left," Morley said.

In the letter, Morley said Stigalt wrote that it was regrettable that he has chosen to leave.

Although the resignation letter will become public record, it has not yet been released pending permission from the Eastlake city law director, Morley said.

Mayor Andrzejewski wishes Stigalt the best. He thought Stigalt found another job closer to home since he had a 45 minute commute to work every day. Andrzejewski doesn't remember any disagreements.

No other information was released.
