WILLOUGHBY, Ohio - A police investigation is under way in Willoughby after two home break-ins in just two days.
Officers posted to the department's Facebook page that on Monday, Nov. 12, someone broke into a home along the 35600 block of Ridge Road, ransacked a bedroom, and made off with jewelry and collector coins.
Police believe the break-in occurred during the day, sometime between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Willoughby police took reports of a second home break-in Tuesday, Nov. 13 at a home on the 5700 block of SOM Center Road. Officers said jewelry was also stolen from this home, as well as silverware, a lockbox, and an antique portable typewriter.
Now police are investigating whether or not the two break-ins that happened just two minutes apart in two days are connected.
Police are urging all residents to contact the Willoughby Police Detective Bureau with tips. Residents are also encouraged to report all suspicious persons and activity to police right away by calling the department at (440) 951-1234.
