A business owner in Willoughby got a taste of the Grinch last week.

Willoughby Police said that a man and a woman told a business owner a "hard luck story" about being unable to buy toys for their kids after the owner declined to buy property they were trying to sell.

The store owner, feeling generous, went to the back of the store to grab some stuffed animals to donate to the boys.

The couple, feeling Grinchy, took the opportunity to empty the store's cash box and leave.

The woman was described as white, between 30 and 35 years old with dirty blond hair, about 5 feet tall, 115 pounds and wearing a silver Northface jacket, black pants and gray boots. The man was described as white, also between 30 and 35 years old, 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 125 pounds, unshaven and wearing a gray wool jacket.

The couple left in a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse with a rear spoiler, police said.
