Snowy conditions have caused a problem for many drivers in Northeast Ohio over the last few days—and that includes emergency vehicle drivers.

An ambulance in Madison flipped over late Tuesday while transporting a patient to University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center.

According to a post on the fire department's Facebook page, the transport squad encountered treacherous road conditions on Route 20, just east of County Line Road.

The driver was going about 20 mph when the ambulance hit ruts in the roadway where other cars had passed through, causing the back of the vehicle to sway.

The driver overcorrected, causing the ambulance to slide sideways into the curb. It then rolled over on its roof.

A firefighter and the medics were taken to the Madison emergency department and released with no injuries. The patient who was being transported to Geneva hospital did not sustain any additional injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
