BERLIN, Ohio - Twelve people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon after a train derailed at a farm.
The accident happened around 3:05 p.m. at Schrock's Amish Farm and Village, located in the 4300 block of State Route 39, according to Holmes County sheriff's deputies.
Sheriff's deputies said a small 1996 J & R gauge open top passenger train separated from the tracks at a switch crossing.
The train then derailed and rolled onto its side, causing several passengers to be ejected.
Deputies said six victims were transported to Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital and six others were taken to Dover-Union Hospital. All injuries are said to be minor.
The Holmes County Sheriff's Department and the Ohio Department of Agriculture Division of Rides and Amusement are investigating the accident.
