Funeral arrangements made for third Chardon High School shooting victim Russell King Jr.

CLEVELAND - Funeral arrangements have been made for the third victim of the Chardon High School shootings, Russell King Jr.

Services will be held 10 a.m. on March 8 at The Church of St. Mary in Chardon. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Friends and family can say their final goodbyes to King on March 7 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home in Chardon.

Russell King Jr., 17, died at Metro Hospital on Feb. 27 after being shot in the head at school earlier that day. Family members said in the obituary that King passed away with "his loving family and friends" by his side.

A junior at Chardon High School, King was studying alternative energy at the Auburn Career Center. He worked at Amberwood Kennels in Hartsgrove, taking care of the dogs, the property and any other job that needed done. His family also said King worked part-time at Pinnacle Woods.

Described as an avid outdoorsman, King loved fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing and tractor pulls. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

King is survived by his parents, Russell and Jeannie, and his sister, Crystal.

King's two friends, Danny Parmertor and Demetrius Hewlin, also died in the tragic school gunfire. Funeral arrangements for both Parmertor and Hewlin have previously been announced.

Suspected gunman TJ Lane has been charged with three juvenile counts of aggravated murder. Prosecutors in Geauga County expect to ask Lane be tried as an adult.
