From record-breaking 70s and sunshine to snow-covered roads in just 24 hours, parts of Northeast Ohio got their first taste of winter on Saturday.

Frigid gusting winds and swirling flakes coated Chardon Square, but the Roseggers couldn’t have been happier.
“So our daughter’s home from college. She just came home today and this is what she came home to!” Wendy Rosegger said. "And so we have Thanksgiving and Christmas is coming, so I love it!”
“I’m ready to wear my winter clothes. I’ve been ready,” Wendy’s daughter Jill Rosegger said. "The back and forth weather has gotten me sick and too many colds so I’m ready to take on the snow.”
Chardon and ODOT plows made their moves Saturday night, clearing streets. ODOT said it staffed 40 crews in Cuyahoga County on Saturday and another 11 crews covering Lake and Geauga counties, but they didn’t pre-treat any roads. That’s because the storm started as rain and that treatment would have just washed away.
It’s a reminder of just how warm it was on Friday, but one day made all the difference. Back roads in Geauga County were snow-covered and treacherous Saturday night.
