A child died after being hit by a car in Chardon on Sunday.
At around 3:40 p.m. Chardon police and fire responded to a 44-year-old woman claiming that she had struck a child who ran in front of her car in the 200 block of Park Avenue.
Paramedics treated the child at the scene and he was later transported to UH Geauga Regional Hospital where he died.
Alcohol is not a factor in the accident and the investigation is ongoing.
