Black bear spotted near Patterson's Farm Market in Chesterland

CHESTERLAND, Ohio - Chesterland police reported a black bear sighting in the 7200 block of Surrey Lane.

On Thursday afternoon, a resident came to the Chesterland Police Department and submitted the info to police.

The bear was also spotted around 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. Thursday at Patterson's Farm Market on Caves Road. According to part-owner Bill Patterson, the bear walked across the parking lot, about 20 feet away from where approximately 100 people were gathered for an indoor event.

Patterson snapped a few photos, which he shared with NewsChannel5 Friday afternoon.

The bear appeared to 300 pounds.
