Vermilion man dies of heart attack after crash

VERMILION TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A 65-year-old man died of a heart attack in Vermilion Township Saturday after a vehicle crash.

The wreck happened around 4 p.m. on Darrow Road, just west of Risden Road, according to Ohio State Highway Troopers.

Troopers said James L. Rundell, of Vermilion, suffered a heart attack while driving. Rundell's Ford Escape then went off the right side of the roadway, crashing into a tree.

Paramedics transported the 65-year-old to Lorain Mercy Hospital, where he passed away due to the heart attack, according to troopers.

The crash remains under investigation.
