Two arrested when Ohio State Highway Patrol finds 20 pounds of marijuana in Erie County

ERIE COUNTY, Ohio - Ohio troopers seized 20 pounds of marijuana and other drugs during a traffic stop in Erie County on Wednesday.

Troopers pulled over a Chrysler 300 with Michigan registration on the Ohio Turnpike near milemarker 121 for following too closely.

The Ohio State highway Patrol said troopers noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car and the passenger handed over a small bag of pot from his pants pocket. When troopers searched the car, they found 20 pounds of marijuana, 19 hydrocodone pills and two jars of hashish, the patrol said.

The driver and passenger, 36-year-old Jay Clower, of Michigan and 23-year-old Ryan Renusch of North Carolina, were arrested and taken to the Erie County Jail. There were charged with possession and trafficking marijuana.
