Stolen Dyson vacuums recovered in Ohio Turnpike traffic stop in Erie County

SANDUSKY, Ohio - Troopers recovered $1,500 worth of stolen merchandise during a traffic stop in Erie County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said troopers pulled over a Chrysler 300 on Interstate 80 at about 12:34 p.m. on Thursday for a window tint violation. But troopers noticed two new Dyson vacuums and clothes with the tags still attached in the car's backseat.

The patrol said the driver admitted that the items were stolen. Troopers also recovered a cordless drill, ball caps, Nike shoes and a shoe display rack.

Daniel A. Richardson, 34, and his passenger, 27-year-old Roy N. Marquez, both of Lorain, were taken to the Erie County Jail. They were charged with receiving stolen property.
