MARGARETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A woman is dead after a crash between her motorcycle and a Jeep on State Route 101 at Superior Street in Erie County's Margaretta Township Monday night.
The Sandusky Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said a 16-year-old driving a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound turned left onto Superior Street and failed to yield the right of way to Kristina McGraw's Harley Davidson XLH 883 Sportster heading southbound.
McGraw, 48, of Sandusky, collided with the Jeep and was ejected from the motorcycle at about 7:08 p.m., according to Highway Patrol.
She was taken from the scene to Firelands Regional Medical Center by Margaretta Township EMS, where she was pronounced dead at 08:03 p.m.
The 16-year-old, as well as a 17-year-old passenger were treated for minor injuries and later released. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, troopers said.
They said McGraw was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
