Perkins Township Police to hold memorial service for K-9 officer Uganda

The Perkins Township Police department will hold a memorial service for their K-9 officer, Uganda on Saturday. 

The department announced Sunday on Facebook that their K-9 officer Uganda passed away due to complications from an injury. Since 2011, she aided the department with drug seizures, tracking missing people and assisted in criminal apprehensions. She worked alongside her handler, Sgt. Marty Curran. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 10 at 10 a.m. at Perkins High School Auditorium on 3714 Campbell Street in Sandusky. A cruiser procession will leave the Perkins Township Police at 9:30 a.m. and travel to the high school. 

The public is welcome to attend the memorial service.
