One northeast Ohio family is planning a funeral, while also celebrating a miracle. A violent car crash on Wednesday in Erie County killed a 29-year-old mother of two, but it’s who survived the crash that is holding the victim’s family together.

Angie Hein flipped her 1996 Toyota Camry on Route 2 eastbound near Berlin Road on Wednesday afternoon. She was ejected from the vehicle and died instantly.

"She was my world,” her mom Debbie Hein said, “And people don’t know what it’s like to lose a child. It hurts.”

Hein was not wearing a seatbelt. Her mom told newsnet5.com she thinks that’s because her daughter took off the seatbelt to retrieve her 15-month-old daughter’s lost binkie in the backseat.

“She wouldn’t leave this parking lot until she slipped her seatbelt on,” Hein said. "She always had it on.”

Hein’s Camry swerved off the highway, into the median and flipped several times all while her baby daughter Brianna sat in the back seat. Somehow, Brianna is still alive today, running and playing, with little sign of injury.

"It’s like part of my heart is gone,” Hein said. "I’m just going to that little one because that little one needs me.”

The family has now set up an online fundraiser to help pay for funeral expenses.
