GROTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A two-car crash in Erie County killed an 88-year-old man Tuesday afternoon.
John M. Klish, of Mansfield, was driving northbound on state Route 4 in Groton Township and didn't yield at a stop sign, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. His 1999 Ford Explorer was hit on the left side by a Subaru Outback at Strecker Road.
Troopers said the two cars went off the side of the road and came to rest in a field. Klish, who was wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver, 40-year-old Robin Reaves, of Tiffin, was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo by medical helicopter.
The crash remains under investigation.
