CLEVELAND - A young Cleveland girl has a big place in her heart for one Cleveland police officer. So much so, that Destiny Rice decided to sell lemonade to help. Officer Hank Adkins was forced to retire because he is battling ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.
The second lemonade stand took place Saturday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. The first stand raised $200.00. Destiny still wanted to raise more, so she organized Saturday's sale at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church .
Celebrity servers were on hand Saturday to help raise money. Council President Kevin J. Kelley and Captain Keith Sulzer competed for the most sales in the first hour.
Anyone interested in making a donation to the Adkins family can contact the Second Police District at 216-623-5220.
