Winning weekend for Browns, Indians equals happy fans on Monday

CLEVELAND - A winning weekend for the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians seemed to lift the spirits of sports fans on Monday.

"It's wonderful," said Betsey Petit of Shaker Heights. The lifelong Indians fan is thrilled the team is on the verge of a playoff berth.

Sunday's 26,000 fans at Progressive Field was the largest Sunday crowd this season, said Joel Hammond with the Indians.

"We're expecting great crowds," said Hammond about the upcoming home games Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Browns first win of the season helped lift the spirits of die hard football fans. But, Dr. Howard Hall with University Hospitals is quick to caution that fans should not get caught up in the roller coster of wins and losses.

"My advice is celebrate the wins, endure the challenges and stay in the middle," Hall said.
