Warrensville Heights City School District Board President Mimi Gaiter admitted on Tuesday that her son took a gun into a school parking lot and broke a car window, according to a statement.

Gaiter distributed the statement below on Tuesday:

Good evening,

As a parent, I am angry, frustrated and embarrassed that my son would make such a foolish mistake by bringing a BB gun into the school parking lot and breaking a car window.  He immediately reported the incident to his teacher and the Assistant Principal at the high school.  He has been fully cooperative with the the Warrensville Heights Police, District Security and High School Administrators.

He knows it was stupid and immature and we will deal with this as a family and move forward.

As School Board President, let me assure you this matter will be handled according to our established code of conduct and according to Board Policy.
