CLEVELAND - Two women were rescued Sunday morning from the Cuyahoga River after their kayaks capsized.
At 11:25 a.m., a search-and-rescue controller received a mayday call from a boater reporting two women in the water after their kayaks capsized at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River, said a U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson.
The spokesperson said a rescue boat crew were in the area for training and rescued the women.
They were taken to Whiskey Island and are expected to be okay.
Both women were wearing life jackets.
