Two people have been indicted in the stabbing death of a dog in Lakewood last week.

Charles Hobbs and Cassandra Biddulph were both indicted with cruelty against companion animal, cruelty to animals, endangering children, receiving stolen property and having weapons while under disability in connection with the Feb. 10 domestic incident and death of a dog, according to Lakewood police and Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court documents.

Lakewood police were called at 10:29 p.m. regarding a woman who was shot at. The woman, identified as Biddulph, was later located by Cleveland police and told authorities that she was being shot at in the 12000 block of Idlewood Avenue. She said the dog was shot.

Officers spoke with the Hobbs, 30, and Biddulph, 33, and determined they killed their dog, claiming it had bitten their daughter.

The daughter showed no injuries of a dog bite, according to a Lakewood police news release.

A Lakewood police incident report said Hobbs and Biddulph stabbed their dog to death.

Hobbs was also indicted on a domestic violence charge. He is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 21.  Biddulph is due to appear in court March 2.
