A 14-year-old is in serious condition at MetroHealth Medical Center after being burned inside of a East Cleveland home during a fire.
Neighbors heard the boy screaming and saw him caught on fire running outside the house. The neighbor said she told the boy to stop, drop and roll. When he wouldn't, her husband tackled the boy and extinguished the flames with a sweatshirt.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at East 186th Street around 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Neighbors told News 5 reporters that the boy was cooking noodles with his mother in the home when the fire started.
