Cleveland student nurse sentenced for fondling patient, banned from working in health care field

Has nursing license revoked in three states

CLEVELAND - A student nurse charged with sexually assaulting a woman in labor at Fairview Hospital in June 2012 was sentenced in court Tuesday afternoon.

James Lewis was sentenced to serve two years of probation and fined $1,000.  The judge ordered that Lewis serve the first 60 days of his probation in jail. 

Lewis had his nursing licenses revoked in three states.  He will never be allowed to work in the health care field again. 

Lewis entered a plea of guilty in December 2013 to one count each of patient abuse or neglect and sexual imposition for fondling a patient in labor.
