Some Strongsville students are getting a real-life lesson this week in English, Spanish and History.
A contingent of eight people from El Salvador are visiting Strongsville for the next several days. It is part of the program "Connecting Communities, Connecting Cultures."
Strongsville High School Spanish teacher, Tonya Barba-Minor was on a mission trip to El Salvador with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Strongsville last year. That's when she said she was approached by a teacher about coming to the United States to learn how teachers here teach.
"I know they are in awe of what we have," explained Barba-Minor.
That idea became a reality when the group arrived in the country on December 2.
"They say they are learning from us, but I know we are learning so much," said Barba-Minor
Students at Strongsville High School, Strongsville Middle School and Sts. Joseph and John Catholic School will get the chance to learn from the visitors from El Salvador.
Several Strongsville organizations, as well as St Joseph Catholic Church, paid for the trip.
