A string of car part thefts have hit the Cleveland metro area, most of which involve the stealing of wheels and tires from parked vehicles.

The most recent theft occurred on Wednesday, when an individual reported a stolen front driver side tire from a vehicle parked at the Rapid Transit Station parking lot on Shaker Boulevard in Shaker Heights.

There were two incidents on Tuesday, one in which a catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 2000 block of Kemper Road around 10:30 p.m. The other incident, which was reported around 7:30 a.m. that day, involved all four wheels and tires being stolen from a 2016 Toyota Corolla in Westlake.

The first incident in this string of thefts occurred on July 14, again at the Rapid Transit Station parking lot near the Shaker Boulevard and Green Road intersection in Shaker Heights. A Solon resident reported that someone stole their vehicle's catalytic converter while it was parked in the lot.

It remains unclear if the four thefts are being investigated as related. Police have not released any persons of interest.
