Star Wars fans at the Cinemark in Valley View are in the midst of an all day movie marathon that began with The Phantom Menace at 3 a.m Thursday and will conclude at 7 p.m. with the first showing of the newest movie, The Force Awakens.

Craig Kandiko was one of the couple hundred fans who had tickets for the marathon and was outside the theater at 1 a.m just waiting to get the marathon started.

"We could all watch it on Blu-ray at home but there is nothing that replicates the theater setting," Kandiko said when asked why he would be spending the next 16 hours watching movies he has already seen.

Brian Juriga was also outside with his custom Star Wars Toyota FJ Cruiser or as he calls it, "a vehicle from a galaxy far far away." The SUV features custom graphics from the Star Wars movies as well as other modifications and was attracting a lot of attention.

Both Kandiko and Juriga are married and have jobs and both said  there is nothing different about seeing all the movies or standing in line for your favorite sports team or band. Kandiko even compared the all-day marathon to seeing the Beatles, "If you had the chance to see the Beatles live you'd wait in line for hours."
