ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - Black Friday, Cyber Monday and now Small Business Saturday.
Small Business Saturday started in 2010 as a way to promote shopping at local stores. This year it is Saturday, Nov. 30.
Once Upon A Time Toys is one small business that has stood the test of time. It has been on Detroit Road in Rocky River for 25 years. Ryan Pulis and his 5-year-old daughter, Lucy, are loyal customers.
"I like that the money we spend stays in the community," said Pulis.
Keeping money in small business in towns across America is exactly what the day is all about. A day for supporting local small business by shopping at local stores. Stores in communities across the area are taking part in the day.
"We hope everyone takes advantage of shopping locally. It's very important for all or us or we won't be here, " said Jan Novak, who works at Once Upon A Time Toys.
Small business owners said they offer unique items and quality items.
"I carry things you can't find in big box stores," said Jack Seelie, owner of Once Upon A Time Toys.
