Shaker Heights police officer on paid leave after shooting

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio - A Shaker Heights police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave following a shooting Monday morning.

Chief of Police Scott Lee said officers responded to a disturbance call for loud music in the 14000 block of Becket Road at about 5:27 a.m.

An officer-involved shooting occurred while police were following up on the issue.

One man was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center and his condition is unknown at this time.

The officer's placement on paid administrative leave is department policy, police said.
