ORANGE VILLAGE, Ohio - The Orange Village police officer hit by a car on Thursday is now at home while the driver is in critical condition.
Robert Rosic, a 20-year veteran of the police force, was struck while running traffic enforcement outside of his SUV on Interstate 271 northbound.
Orange Village police said Rosic and his family are thankful to the Greater Cleveland area for their support and for respecting his privacy over the last 24 hours.
The other vehicle involved in the accident was a 2013 white Dodge Avenger with New Jersey plates.
The vehicle was driven by 84-year-old Eugene Ottow, of Parma Heights. Ottow remains at Hillcrest Hospital in critical but stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
