SWAT and police investigate report of shots fired, Westlake business struck by gunfire

WESTLAKE, Ohio - Part of a Westlake road was shut down for several hours Saturday as police investigated shots fired at a local business.

Police reopened Center Ridge Road, telling NewsChannel5 that five shots fired from a car hit a Westlake business in the 30700 block around 12:05 p.m.

The shooter drove by multiple times to get multiple rounds off, police said.

During their investigation, police used laser pointers to determine the trajectory of bullet holes.

After they arrived, a shot was fired in the direction of the officers, though no one was hurt. Officers then called backup, including the SWAT team.

Police urged residents on Center Ridge Rd. between Bradley Rd. and Magnolia Pkwy to stay inside as they searched for a suspect.

No arrest have been made at this time.
