CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio - Crime scene tape surrounded a home Saturday in the peaceful neighborhood of Cleveland Heights after a grandmother was found dead.
Officers were called to a house in the 3400 block of Woodridge Road, at around 1 p.m. for a welfare check, police said.
When officers arrived, the victim was found dead in an upstairs room from an apparent homicide.
A short time later, the woman's 21-year-old grandson was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.
Authorities told NewsChannel5 he was taken to the Cleveland Heights Jail. No charges were announced late Saturday.
Neighbors said they knew the victim as "Judy." The Cuyahoga County Coroner identified the victim as 55-year-old Jualene G. Winston.
