CLEVELAND - Three people were shot overnight, including two innocent bystanders, after gunshots erupted outside of the Sweethearts Bar in Cleveland following an argument.
According to police, a verbal altercation occurred between one victim and the suspect around 1:15 a.m. Saturday outside of the Sweethearts Bar, located at 3610 Superior Avenue near E. 36th Street.
The suspect then pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking the 19-year-old victim in the foot. The first victim was transported by paramedics to St. Vincent Charity Hospital to be treated.
Cleveland police then began receiving calls from two locals hospital reporting two shooting victims who arrived stating they had been shot on Superior Avenue.
Police said a 21-year-old man was treated at University Hospital with a gunshot wound the shin area. The third victim was treated at the Cleveland Clinic for a gunshot wound to the shin, as well.
Officers said the second and third victims were outside of the bar when shots were fired, but were not involved in the altercation.
Witnesses tell police the suspect wore all black clothing, a winter hat and was last seen running northbound on Superior Ave. He is still on the run.
