PARMA, Ohio - The public has been invited to see the wrecking ball take down the former Macy's at the former site of the Parmatown Mall.
The demolition of the store, which closed in 2012, will be Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 9:30 a.m. Developer Phillips Edison & Company calls the demolition the next step in the transformation of The Shoppes at Parma. "The mall is being transformed - not just renovated - into a shopping, dining and gathering place for the community and the entire region," said the senior vice president of the company's Strategic Investment Fund, Roy Williams.
The $70 million development of The Shoppes at Parma will include construction of new retail buildings; major renovations of the mall, the Marc's strip center facade and the adjacent medical building; and site improvements.
