Parma firefighters rescue 4 dogs from burning home overnight

Parma firefighters were called out to the 7000 block of Bertha Avenue Saturday for a house fire.

Crews arrived on scene around 4 a.m. and located the home with flames shooting out from the house.

The home was not occupied at the time of the blaze, however; there were four dogs inside. All of the canines survived.

The fire was contained to a first floor bedroom.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The home was using space heaters as the gas had been shut off several weeks ago.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries during extinguishment.
