VALLEY VIEW, Ohio - The Ohio Attorney General's active shooter training for teachers is being held in Valley View at Cuyahoga County's Educational Service Center at 8 a.m. There's also an afternoon session scheduled.
This Valley View training is the first one to be held in northeast Ohio. The training courses kicked off in Columbus last month.
Some of the training tools Ohio teachers will learn include how to spot an active shooter before they open fire, how to respond to a school shooting, and how to identify a troubled child.
The Ohio Attorney General's office started developing the training after the Chardon High School shooting.
The courses are free and have been offered across the state.
None of the sessions include firearms training.
