After a busy shopping day, the Park Tavern in North Royalton was packed at 9 p.m. on Black Friday.

But police said one man was looking for goods he didn't pay for.

Police say someone inside the bar saw a man breaking into cars and called police.

They arrested 21-year-old Dashon Brown.

North Royalton Detective Dave Loeding said when Brown was placed in the back of the police car, he spit at officers and tried to kick out the windows of the patrol car.

Loeding said Brown faces several charges, including theft and harassment with bodily substance for spitting at officers.

"He resisted arrest in a continual disorderly situation, in the process there was some damage caused to one of the cruisers," Loeding said.

Loeding said Brown stole from unlocked cars and said he also used a can opener to pry open car windows.
Police recovered numerous items from Brown.

"Jackets, electronics, gift cards, cash," Loeding said.

Police say Brown also stole a ring, keys to a Harley and keys to a car.

Loeding said Brown was stashing other items behind a nearby apartment building, but was arrested before he retrieved those items.

"Property taken out of cars and left possibly to be picked up later that appears to be the motive for it," Loeding said.
