Nine months after fire gutted Joey's Restaurant, it reopens in brand new Chagrin Falls location

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio - Nine months after a fire gutted Joey's Restaurant on North Main Street in Chagrin Falls, the eatery owners look to reopen by the end of the year in a nearby location.

Mike Leonetti said his family signed a five-year lease in hopes of opening the Italian eatery at 22 W. Orange Street in Chagrin Falls. It's the address where Ski and Sport Haus had been located.

According to an article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Leonetti said work on the new building will start after the transactions are cleared by the village. He expects this to take a few months.

The Leonettis hope to reopen by the end of the year.

The new 3,000 square foot restaurant is set to feature seating for 75 and will include a small bar and a private party room.

Former employees of Joey's will be hired at the new restaurant site.

The lease includes a trio of five-year extension options following the initial five years. Leonetti expects to be there long-term.
